Calistoga Fire Station Seismic Retrofit and Modernization

Seismic retrofit and expansion of an existing 1960’s era wood and masonry 3 bay fire station in downtown Calistoga. The project included the addition of a new display space for a historic fire rig as well as a building extension at the rear of the station, a new apron slab and apparatus bay slabs with subgrade improvement (settlement mitigation), replacement of dry-rotted wood outriggers with new steel elements and an overall seismic improvement of the entire facility.  A considerable amount of engineering was provided during the construction phase to account for mitigation of additional dry rot and decay as well as unforeseen conditions due to the lack of as-built drawings.
