MADERA, CA

Ellis Street/ Avenue 16 OC Construction Inspection

Cornerstone served as the bridge Structure Representative for the construction of the new Ellis Street Overcrossing located in Madera.  The new structure consists of a 606 ft long by 73 ft wide multiple-span post-tensioned box girder bridge consisting of 15 dry-placed, large diameter CIDH piles and 38 driven precast piles supporting abutments.  This structure spans over northbound and southbound lanes of traffic along State Route 99, Golden State Blvd, Sharon Blvd, Union Pacific Railroad tracks, and several critical utility lines including a Kinder Morgan high-pressure petroleum line and a PG&E gas main.  A high level of coordination effort and pre-construction planning was necessary and the complex nature of the structure required regular monitoring of falsework and construction methods to ensure a successful bridge build.
