Long Beach Fire Station No. 12

Cornerstone provided the design of a new LEED Gold Certified fire station facility that includes a 10,000 square foot main fire station, a 5,000 square foot apparatus bay for storage of emergency response vehicles, and several free-standing canopies for other apparatus and personal vehicles. Also included were various site improvements such as site walls, fueling station canopy, fences, gate, and structural specification support for a 100-foot tall design/build antenna structure. The buildings are structural masonry with curved steel roof trusses supporting metal deck at the apparatus bays and wood roof framing at the low bays. The roof construction in the apparatus bays is fabricated structural steel pipe trusses with the top chord curved to meet the radius of the roof.  Metal decking with integral acoustical damping spans between the trusses.
