FOUNDER | PRINCIPAL

Todd M. Goolkasian, SE

After previously running another engineering firm, Todd  founded Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group in 2004.  Todd is a licensed structural engineer with nearly 40 years of experience in structural design and project management.  During his career, he has been responsible for the design and construction management of major bridge, grade separation, and freeway interchange projects; seismic retrofit and rehabilitations;  including bridges, assessment studies, retaining walls, and culvert/water-related structures. He has also been responsible for the structural design of educational, commercial, industrial, and community building facilities. His clients include public agencies, private developers, professional engineers, architects, school districts, and church dioceses, among others.

In addition to his work at Cornerstone, Todd pursues a number of community activities. He has served on the board for numerous professional organizations.  Mr. Goolkasian was selected by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2018 to receive the ASCE national award for Entrepreneur of the Year for making a tremendous impact within his community and within the civil engineering industry.

PRESIDENT | PRINCIPAL

Shawn M. Cullers, SE

After graduating with a dual Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management, Shawn came to work for Cornerstone two months after it was founded and has been with the firm ever since.  With over 20 years of professional engineering and project management experience, Shawn has worked on and managed many of the firms largest and most complex projects.  His primary focus is with the design and construction management of transportation structures for public clients.  His resume includes bridge rehabilitations, seismic retrofits, widenings, and replacements; transit and rail structures, retaining walls; culverts; and pump stations and other municipal structures.    

 

Shawn became a Principal and President of Cornerstone in 2020.  While he is primarily responsible for administration and quality control, Shawn is a working Principal and remains actively involved in the oversight of projects, including the development of project strategy and assisting the Project Manager with client and stakeholder coordination and project scheduling and staffing.

He is the past chair of the ACEC/Caltrans Structures Liaison Committee and co-chair of the ACEC/Caltrans Structures BIM Subcommittee.

ASSOCIATE

Dustin Lee, SE

Dustin has over nine years of structural design and project management experience with Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group. He currently manages the Building Division and directly oversees every building project designed by the Firm. He has been responsible for the structural design of a wide range of projects that include schools, public safety facilities, public housing, commercial, seismic retrofits, and modernizations throughout California.

 

Dustin oversees each project in a hands-on manner to ensure Cornerstone provides the highest quality in design and constructability. He is an integral part of our Technical team staying current with the latest codes and design requirements as well as supervising our BIM department and assisting with training new staff hires.

ASSOCIATE

N. Bobby Zermeno, SE

Mr. Zermeño has over ten years of professional engineering design and project management experience with Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group.  He is currently responsible for managing numerous HBP funded as well as locally funded bridge replacement projects throughout Central California and the Bay Area. He is currently active in a number of professional associations including ASCE, APWA, as well as acting District 5 & 6 Representative for the ACEC/Caltrans Structures Liaison Committee and co-chair of the ACEC/Caltrans Structures BIM Subcommittee.  He also routinely serves as a professional mentor for civil engineering students completing their senior design projects at California State University, Fresno.

ASSOCIATE

Mark A. Weaver, SE

Mr. Weaver is a senior engineer with over 12 years of experience in the structural design of bridge and building structures. He has played key roles in the design, independent check, and construction administration of numerous award-winning projects during the course of his career. His other professional interests include active involvement as a past president on boards of multiple organizations showing his commitment to his community and his profession.

SENIOR ENGINEER

Jonathan P. Jensen, PE

Mr. Jensen has over ten years of professional engineering design and project management experience with Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group.  He is currently responsible for managing numerous infrastructure projects from Sacramento to Bakersfield for both public and private clients.  Outside of his work, he has served on the board of the Fresno Branch ASCE Younger Members Forum as president and has mentored civil engineering students completing their studies at California State University, Fresno.

FOUNDER | CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Maureen Goolkasian, PE

Maureen Goolkasian is a licensed Civil Engineer and the Chief Financial Officer for Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group.  In addition to her financial responsibilities, she also acts as the Human Resources Manager from the headquarter office in Fresno.

As one of the co-founders of Cornerstone, Maureen’s engineering background and previous years of experience in land development give her a unique insight into the complexities of Cornerstone’s design projects and assist her in guiding the firm in its management decision-making.

Maureen is well versed in AASHTO Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide regulations and is responsible for assisting Cornerstone’s engineers and its clients in the preparation of the documents required for federally funded projects.  She is also responsible for the preparation of the firm’s Indirect Cost Rate Schedule annually.

In addition to her work at Cornerstone, Maureen has taught engineering courses at California State University, Fresno.  She has also served as Treasurer for the Fresno Branch of ASCE and is a member of CELSOC.
