The new mountaintop Winters Creek Lodge at Mt. Rose serves skiers and hang gliders. The 7,865 square foot structural steel and light gauge steel framed day lodge and dining facility includes retail, ticket sales, and family lockers.  The lodge features high bay architecturally exposed steel framing, for the dining facility and a combination of hot-rolled and cold-formed steel framing to support the over 300 psf snow loads and 100 mph wind loads.  Key features include remote construction and heavy snow and wind loading.
