Goodfellow Avenue Bridge at the Kings River

Fresno County, CA

Fresno County retained Cornerstone to replace its functionally obsolete bridge over the Kings River.  The new bridge needed to meet current loads as well as being able to handle the future loads from a nearby sand and gravel mining operation.  Additionally, the bridge had to meet the needs of the local agricultural community that frequently cross the bridge with loaded produce tractors.

Cornerstone provided Plans, Specs, and Engineering estimates for the beautiful, parabolically haunched structure.  The large column supports and arched features of the new bridge make it an aesthetically pleasing addition to the river, which is frequently used by swimmers and boaters near the bridge.

This project won the ASCE Outstanding Structural project of the Year in 2011.
